Space Police

The Space Police have one objective: To make space and space-travel as safe as possible. To this end, they patrol key routes and ports and maintain extensive surveillance and data gathering activities across the region. They are proactive rather than reactive - it usually takes too long to respond to distant incidents, which are usually over before they arrive. The Space Police try to raid facilities involved in crime, especially piracy. They actively hunt the worst pirates, wherever they hide.

The Space Police also keep tabs on the various alien species who constantly migrate through human space. While so far these aliens have arrived in small numbers, they are often criminal outcasts from their home worlds.
